Intern - Software Engineer

Position Type: Part-time or Full-time Internship (3–6 months, with potential extension)

The Software Engineering Intern will support the COO on internal systems and dashboard development across various operational functions, including workforce, project, and performance-tracking tools, plus periodic enhancements to core business systems.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Coding & System Configuration

  • Write, test, and debug code to support internal tools and systems under senior engineering guidance.
  • Configure and adapt core business systems to meet specific operational requirements.

Enhancement & Testing Support

  • Support periodic enhancements to core internal business systems.
  • Assist with testing and quality assurance of new features and tools.

Technical Documentation & Coordination

  • Maintain clear technical documentation for tools and systems developed.
  • Coordinate with relevant internal stakeholders on requirements and timelines.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Currently in the final year of a Bachelor’s program (Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field).
  • Demonstrated ability to use AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Gemini) to accelerate research, synthesize large documents (PDFs/reports), and structure and draft initial content.
  • Diligence in validating AI-generated outputs against primary sources.
  • Hands-on coding ability in at least one programming language (e.g., Python, JavaScript, or Java), with comfort debugging and using version control (e.g., Git).
  • Structured thinking with ability to break down complex problems methodically.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with ability to synthesize complex information concisely.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills — ability to work across teams, manage expectations, and drive alignment.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented with ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-starter mentality with intellectual curiosity and proactive problem-solving approach.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proficiency in MS Excel (pivot tables, lookups, advanced formulas).
  • Proficiency in Canva with a proven ability to prepare professional-quality presentations.
  • Experience with data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, Excel charts).
  • Prior internship, work experience, or project work in a relevant area.
  • Any experience with ERP coding, customization, or configuration (e.g., custom workflows, forms, or system integrations) is a plus.
